Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. We meet again on Monday, 1st May for more action in the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League. It will be match number 43 where Lucknow will be locking horns against Bangalore and it will be another enthralling fixture coming your way. The first ball for the same will be at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT), but you can join us early for the build-up. Until then, goodbye and cheers!
Yashasvi Jaiswal wins the Player of the Match award for his scintillating knock. He says the best moment was when he scored the century as he didn't know the ball went for a boundary. Adds that he thanked God at that moment. Tells that he has worked hard for this and was very happy with it. Mentions that he is mentally strong, focuses a lot on fitness and diet, and tries to be well organized. Tells that his favorite shot is the straight drive which gives him a lot of confidence especially when he clears his foot to play the shot. Ends by acknowledging the support for him.
Rohit Sharma, the victorious skipper is in for a chat. Starts by saying it was very pleasing to see how they chased down the target. Mentions that they bat really well when the score is in front of them. Informs that Tim David has got a lot of ability but it will take some time for him to fill the shoes of Pollard who has done it consistently for the side in the past and won plenty of trophies. Still believes that David has a lot more to offer and he possesses some great power. On Jofra Archer, he says that it won't be long before he finds his rhythm. Mentions that even Suryakumar Yadav looks sharp and is not away from his best version. On being asked about Yashasvi Jaiswal, he says that initially he was shocked looking at the power he generated in his shots. He even questioned him about the fact and to that the Rajasthan batter responded that he has been regularly visiting the gym. Tells that he is glad to see the growth of the youngster and says that it is a positive sign for the Indian cricket team and also his franchise.
Stay tuned for the presentation....
Tim David, the man of the moment is in for a chat. He says that it is an amazing result for them and the crowd was going absolutely crazy which is always the case here in Wankhede. Adds that he feels great to be part of this win and it will give them more confidence. Mentions that he felt every bowler had to be targeted and the conditions were good for batting. Says that every time a bowler missed the yorker you were in with a chance. Tells that he wanted to do something like this for a long time and is very happy to be on the winning side.
Sanju Samson, the skipper of Rajasthan says he was telling his bowlers to stay in the game and fight it out which they did but credits Suryakumar Yadav and the Mumbai batters for the way they played and says it was something special from Tim David. Tells that the ball was getting wet but not that wet and feels they had enough experience to deal with it. Mentions that they have been playing good cricket with results being in their favor or they get close in the end. Praises Yashasvi Jaiswal for his century and says he is very happy for him even though he ended up on the losing side.
Earlier in the game, Rajasthan were able to get over the 200-run mark, only thanks to an incredible knock from the youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal. He smacked 124 runs off just 62 balls, and apart from him no other batter for Rajasthan could even get to 20 runs. Although, later on, their bowlers could not defend this mammoth total.
Rajasthan would be extremely gutted with their performance with the ball. Sanju Samson might feel that he missed a trick by handing the final over to Holder who was one of the most expensive bowlers for them. Although, he might've been forced to make that decision as Kuldeep Sen left the field early due to some discomfort. Just like Mumbai, even Rajasthan leaked plenty of runs despite picking wickets at regular intervals and that costed them the game. Even their spinner took a beating today which is quite unusual. All-in-all it was a decent outing for Rajasthan with the ball. No one really could strangle this Mumbai batting attack, except Ashwin who tried to keep things tight with a spell of 4-0-27-2.
Mumbai never give up till the very end and that's a trait that they have mastered over the course of the competition. On the 1000th game of the Indian T20 League, Mumbai found their mojo back and picked up two crucial points at home. Much-needed victory for the hosts, as they were running out of momentum. It was not an ideal start for Mumbai with the bat, as they lost the birthday boy, Rohit Sharma early on. Despite losing him early, Ishan Kishan tried his best to find boundaries at regular intervals but he struggled with his timing throughout. He was joined by Cameron Green who had only one intention and that was to attack. The Australian smacked 44 runs off 26 balls. He certainly kept the side in the chase. It also looked like Suryakumar Yadav is back to his best. His 51-run stand with Varma set a perfect platform for Tim David to show his class. He racked up a 14-ball 45* and hit three maximums on the trot in the final over to get Mumbai over the line.
OH, MY WORD! WHAT WAS THIS FINISH! This is the first true glimpse of what Tim David can do wearing a blue jersey. He has undoubtedly become the hero of Mumbai. He was brought into the side to apply his finishing touches and he has delivered at a crucial juncture of the tournament this time around. Smiles across the Mumbai camp. A collective sigh of relief from the crowd as the third ball of the final over reached the crowd, which quickly turned into a carnival of joy. This is the best birthday present Rohit Sharma could've asked for.

Who will bowl the final over? It is Jason Holder who gets the ball in hand. Also, Rajasthan are only allowed to place 4 fielders outside the inner circle as they have been penalized for their over-rate.
