That is all from this game! Pakistan win the series but there is still one more game to go. The third ODI will be played on 21st August at 2.30 pm IST (9 am GMT). Do join us for the build up as well. Cheers!
Babar Azam, the skipper of Pakistan says they had a good start with the ball and they made good use of the conditions and later the spinners did well and he is happy with how the team played. Reckons there is moisture in the wicket earlier on and that is why they wanted to bowl first. Credits Agha Salman for the way he played and he has impressed and he hopes he can continue.
Scott Edwards, the skipper of Netherlands says at the start he knew it wasn’t going to be easy, it is not easy to come back from being 3 down in no time by Cooper and Bas de Leede played really well. States 250 would have been a good total but they just could not get going in the lower order. Adds the wicket does play well for spinners but he is disappointed with the way they got out. Ends by saying they are looking forward to the next game.
Mohammad Nawaz is the Player of the Match for taking three wickets. He says he enjoyed the conditions and it felt like Karachi. Adds he wants the batters to go after him as there are more chances of wickets. States he just wants to give his 100 percent and he just wants to perform well.
...Presentation coming up...
Earlier, Netherlands opted to bat first but the decision proved to be a wrong one as no one apart from Bas de Leede and Tom Cooper made an impact. They ended with an under-par score. Credit to the Pakistani bowlers who were exceptional with the ball. Later, it was a comfortable chase by the visitors as Babar Azam, Rizwan and Salman scored a fifty.
Netherlands had very less to bowl at! They started brilliantly by taking two wickets early on but after that, they allowed a couple of partnerships to build which was enough to take the game away from them. Vivian Kingma was decent with the ball but it was very hard for the bowlers to play with a low score. The others tried hard but it just didn't happen for the Dutch team.
A pretty easy win in the end for Pakistan and with this, they clinch the series as they go 2-0 up. Pakistan were rocked back early as both the openers fell quickly but Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan eased things out by playing some delightful stroke and notched a stand worth of 88. Babar fell after scoring his fifty but till then Pakistan were in a good position. Rizwan and Agha Salman later chased down the target pretty easily with both scoring a half-century.
