Ashton Turner collects the trophy and his team joins him in celebration! They all pose for the cameras after what has been an entertaining season. It was our pleasure to cover these games and we thank you for your company. Make sure you join us for plenty of cricket that we have lined up over the next few weeks. Cheers and goodbye for now!
Ashton Turner, the skipper of Perth Scorchers, says it does not feel real at the moment. Adds that all the teams were competitive and had obstructions to stay away from the home and families. Says they have massive respect for Sydney Sixers as they have an amazing culture and rich history. He thanks the sponsors and fans for their support despite not being able to play in Perth this season. Finishes by thanking his team for giving it their all in the season.
Moises Henriques, the skipper of Sydney Sixers, says that Perth Scorchers were too good for them tonight. Says that this adds to the rich history between these two sides. He thanks his whole team and the support staff for giving it their all in this season and says that they should be very proud. Adds that this has been an extraordinary season so he thanks everyone who helped organize it. Moises Henriques ends by congratulating Perth Scorchers for their win.
Laurie Evans is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his brilliant 76-run knock. He says that the players deserved it as they sacrificed a lot by staying away from their families for such a long time.
Great scenes in the camp of Perth Scorchers! There are hugs all around, the players are with their families and some of the players are signing autographs! Stay tuned for the presentation.
Peter Hatzoglou now has a word with Brad Hodge. He says that he was playing grade cricket a couple of years ago and didn't imagine that he would play at this level. Adds that they are the most successful win in the league and this means a lot to them.
Jhye Richardson has a word with Brad Hodge. The tall pacer says that someone's shoulder hit his nose and that is why he is bleeding. Adds that it is an interesting feeling as he played just two games. Mentions that everyone contributed for the side's win.
Sydney Sixers had a really tough game. They had the game in their control when they took 4 early wickets but were blown away after that. Chasing 172 was going to be difficult given that they were missing their key batters. Sixers lost 4 wickets in the first 10 overs including the wickets of Moises Henriques and Dan Christian. Daniel Hughes was the only batter who looked in good touch out there but lacked support from the other end. After his wicket, it was only a matter of time before the game was done. A disappointing show in the final but they had a good season. One wonders how competitive the game might have been if Sydney Sixers weren't missing their key players.
What a win for Perth Scorchers. They were down and out in the first 6 overs of the game after losing 4 wickets but a brilliant stand between Ashton Turner and Laurie Evans got them to a competitive total. And then, with the ball, they gave no chances to Sydney Sixers. They were right on the money and thrashed Sixers in the final. Six bowlers were used and everyone got at least one wicket with Andrew Tye getting 3. They have avenged their loss from the previous final and there will be a big party in Perth!
PERTH SCORCHERS ARE THE CHAMPIONS! What a season this has been for them. They topped the league stage and given how they have played in the season, they are the deserving winners. Scorchers are now the most successful team in the Big Bash League as this is their fourth title win. This along with the win by Perth Scorchers Women in the WBBL would make the club very happy! Oh dear, there is blood on Jhye Richardson's nose! He must have bumped with someone during the celebrations.

OUT! LBW! PERTH SCORCHERS ARE THE CHAMPIONS! A yorker, straight on middle, Steve O'Keefe looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads. An appeal for LBW and up goes the finger. The celebration begins as Perth Scorchers win by 79 runs.
