Right then, that's all from this game. We have another game coming your way in the Big Bash League 2022-23 season as the Brisbane Heat take on the Hobart Hurricanes at The Gabba. That game will begin at 2.30 pm IST (9.00 am GMT). As always, you can join us in advance for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!
David Payne wins the Man of the Match award for his scintillating effort with the ball in hand.
Earlier in the innings, after opting to bat first. Adelaide Strikers' batters could not justify their skipper's decision of batting first. They looked lacklustre with the blade this afternoon and were teetering at 37/5 at one stage. It was only Adam Hose who played a valuable knock of 30 runs, if not for him it could've been worse for the Strikers. For Perth Scorchers, their bowlers were on fire from the word go. Lance Morris, David Payne and Peter Hatzoglou returned with three wickets each. During the chase, Perth Scorchers were hardly put under any pressure and got over the line with ease.
Adelaide Strikers needed early wickets here as their bowlers did not have much to defend here. The Strikers though did manage to strike early but could not make the most of it. Their bowlers were unable to keep their lines and lengths tight which never restricted the run flow and that took the game away from them. Cameron Boyce is the only bowler who added his name to the wicket's column with his brace.
Perth Scorchers record their second win on the trot to move to 20 points at the top of the table. Stephen Eskinazi got off to a good start at the top but could not get much support from Cameron Bancroft, who gave away his wicket after a slight mix-up. Stephen Eskinazi also could not make the most of his start. Aaron Hardie came in at number 3 and kept scoring runs at will. He smacked 43 runs off 30 balls to get his side near the victory line. Later, Josh Inglis applied the finishing touches.
WOW! Incredible! It turned out to be a walk in the park for the table-toppers, Perth Scorchers as expected. Adelaide Strikers did get an early wicket but could not maintain the pressure on the opposition.
