Presentation Time...
Earlier in the game, the Deccan Gladiators put up an imposing total on the board, thanks to their explosive opening duo. Nicholas Pooran and Tom Kohler-Cadmore were in scintillating form, smashing brilliant half-centuries. Pooran remained unbeaten on a stellar unbeaten 72, anchoring the innings with finesse. For the Morrisville Samp Army, Muhammad Zahid was the lone standout with the ball, claiming two wickets amidst an otherwise relentless assault by the Gladiators' batters.
Deccan Gladiators, on the other hand, had plenty of runs to play with and their bowlers did a fantastic job. Richard Gleeson was brilliant conceding just 4 runs in one over and picking up a wicket. However, it was the spinner, Usman Tariq who was the pick of the bowlers with his couple of wickets. David Wiese also chipped in with one, but Anrich Nortje and Ibrar Ahmed were also pretty impressive, and this win should give them a lot of confidence going into the final.
Chasing a daunting target, the Morrisville Samp Army struggled to find momentum. Charith Asalanka departed early, while Faf du Plessis and Andries Gous provided brief flashes of hope with quick-fire cameos. However, they needed someone to anchor the innings and take the chase deep. As the required run rate kept climbing, the middle order crumbled under the mounting pressure, and despite some late fireworks from Jack Taylor and Rohan Mustafa, the team fell well short of the target by a significant margin of 45 runs.
DECCAN GLADIATORS MARCH INTO THE FINAL! With a dominant performance, the Gladiators have proven exactly why they finished at the top of the league standings. The two-time champions are now set to compete in their fifth final in the history of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, aiming to claim their third title. As for the Morrisville Samp Army, their journey isn’t over yet - they’ll get another chance to fight for a spot in the final in Qualifier 2.
