Ben McDermott wins the Man of the Match award for his fabulous hitting with the blade. He says, it was very tricky to face the new ball, it was a little bit about settling in the middle and fire in the end. Mentions, it was just his night. Adds, he hopes he can keep scoring runs for his side. Says, they have managed to put up a good score on the board and hopes they keep moving ahead with the momentum.
Stay tuned for the presentation.
Hobart Hurricanes' bowlers had plenty of runs to play with and they set the tone upfront. Thanks to Thomas Rogers who grabbed three wickets inside the Powerplay and put the opposition on the back foot. Just when the Renegades were trying to put on a partnership, Sandeep Lamichhane came into the attack and he took a couple of wickets. However, he ended up with a total of three wickets to his name. The Hurricanes were top-notch in the field as well which resulted in a couple of run outs. All in all, it was a really impressive performance from the Hurricanes and they have now won three games in a row.
Well, when a team chasing a total of over 200, loses three wickets inside the Powerplay, more often than not they end up on the losing side. This is exactly what happened with the Renegades as they lost wickets in quick succession in the Powerplay and were pushed on the back foot straightaway. Sam Harper was the only batter who swung his willow and kept them in the contest for a short while. Although, he kept losing partners and the Renegades never looked like chasing down the target. They completely lost their way in the middle.
This has been a dominating performance from the Hurricanes and they register yet another win. Melbourne Renegades continue their hunt for a win after having won just one game so far in this competition. Five back-to-back loses for Melbourne Renegades.
